As we look at the trajectory of Black America within various disenfranchised communities stricken with poverty there must be a greater emphasis on the 'Construction Trades'. Sure, not every Black child should aspire to work in the construction field; however, construction is the biggest, largest field as it relates to contracts.
In light of over 50 schools closed in Chicago I propose some of those sites be turned into serious trade schools with a focus on all aspects of the construction field. Mayor Rahm Emanuel has announced a 7 BILLION DOLLAR infrastructure program in Chicago, wonder how many Black contractors are shovel ready - ready to bid and work?
